The National Christmas celebrations 2023 was graced by the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Saturday night, at the Centre Emilien Pierre, Sainte Croix Church, in Port Louis.
The Vice-President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Marie Cyril Eddy Boissezon, the Minister of Energy and Public Utilities, Mr Georges Pierre Lesjongard, the Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage, Mr Avinash Teeluck, Members of the Parliament, as well as other personalities were also present.
The event, organised by the Ministry of Arts and Cultural Heritage, comprised performances of several chorale groups and shows by renowned artists.
Christmas message under the banner of unity, sharing and solidarity towards people in difficulty by the Prime Minister in St-Croix. Pravind Jugnauth, who took part in the Christmas celebrations, declared that Christmas is part of the DNA of all Mauritians. He added that our different religions are a source of wealth, and that sharing them is what makes Mauritius so beautiful. The Prime Minister asked for a special thought for those in difficulty during this festive period. He wished that next year, everyone would work hand in hand for the prosperity of the country.
