A 28-year-old police officer residing in Mosqué Road, Upper Vale, was arrested by a team of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU) in Grand Bay. During a raid at around 5pm on Friday 9 July, ADSU officers discovered five plants suspected to be cannabis in the yard of the 28-year-old officer who was stationed at the Triolet police station. The plants measured between 10 and 40 centimetres.
The police also found a quantity of leaves that could be gandia.
The suspect was apprehended and taken to the ADSU office for investigation. He is currently being held at the Piton police station.
