Jean-Pierre Dalais, Chief Executive of the Ciel Group succeeds Vidia Mooneegan at the head of Business Mauritius. He was elected president of this employers’ organization of the private sector, during a general assembly, held at Hennessy Park Hotel, Ebony, on Wednesday, October 20
The new president thanked the members of the organization for the confidence placed in him and said he measures the responsibility especially in a difficult economic and health context.
Namely, the new board of directors of Business Mauritius is composed of Jean-Pierre Dalais himself, Anil Currimjee, CEO of Currimjee Jeewanjee, Arnaud Lagesse, Madhavi Ramdin Clark, Philippe Espitalier-Noël and Jean Li Yuen Fong.
Vidia Mooneegan, outgoing president, noted that “the pandemic has changed the way we conceptualize business, the economy and society. I have witnessed firsthand the solidarity shown by the business community to support each other and society. The resilience shown by our members during this unprecedented episode is commendable. Major challenges lie ahead as we emerge from the pandemic. I wish my successor success in building a sustainable and inclusive Mauritius.”
