Berthie Prosper has been a comedian for 25 years. After several shows and Roger ledan pike – his first film, the artist has other projects in mind, notably a one-man show.
His humor, he takes it from his father. But Berthie was far from imagining that he would one day make a living out of it: “I am an animator in the hotel circuit. One day during a performance, Rama Poonoosamy from the Immedia agency was in the audience. After seeing me on stage, he proposed me to participate in his show 100% Mauritian humor. That’s where my career really started.”
A career that will also lead him to be part of a comedy trio very appreciated by Mauritians: “I am indeed a member of the 3 Moustiker with Stephan Reynal and Alain Narainsamy. Together, we have put together several shows. We might be back on stage for a new show later this year.
On a personal note, the artist is also working on a project that is particularly close to his heart: “After Roger ledan pike – my film, I am currently working on my first one-man show. It will be called Facebook and the show the good and bad sides of this social network. I’m waiting for the restrictions to be lifted before I put it on stage.”
