At the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards (BAFTA) 2023, the German anti-war drama ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ took home the highest number of awards, winning in 7 categories, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Film Not in the English Language as well as awards in the technical categories. In second place, there was a tie on the winner’s tally with ‘Elvis’ and ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’ taking home 4 awards each. Austin Butler won the Best Leading Actor for his performance as Elvis. Both Supporting Actor Awards were backed by The Banshees of Inisherin cast members Kerry Condon and Barry Keoghan. Cate Blanchett won the Best Leading Actress Award for the film TAR.
