The crescent moon having been sighted last night, Eid ul Fitr is celebrated this Saturday, April 22 after a month of fasting. Ramadan is a month par excellence where everyone has been striving to make his prayers at the prescribed times, to devote himself more regularly to the reading of the Koran, to help the poor and to show himself in his best light by adopting good habits that it is important to preserve.
It is encouraging to note that during Ramadan, many families have organized iftaar gatherings (offering refreshments and cakes for the breaking of the fast) and a dinner where relatives, friends and neighbors are invited. This commendable initiative serves to strengthen the bonds of friendship with others and is a beautiful proof of love towards others.
Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated this morning with first the special prayers in mosques, followed by visits to relatives, then the traditional family lunch.
Just as in Mauritius, the moon was observed this Friday night in Reunion, the Muslim community will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, this Saturday, April 22.
Le Matinal Media wishes all our compatriots of Muslim faith a happy Eid-ul-Fitr.
