After keeping the media and their fans waiting for a long time, Alia Bhatt finally shared first photos from her dreamy wedding with Ranbir Kapoor. The couple tied the knot on the 14th April 2022 in an intimate wedding ceremony.
Dressed in their white and gold wedding attires, Ranbir and Alia looked like a vision to behold. The newly-married couple are seen madly in love in the photos.
Alia captioned the lovely pictures, “Today, surrounded by our family and friends, at home … in our favourite spot – the balcony we’ve spent the last 5 years of our relationship – we got married. With so much already behind us, we can’t wait to build more memories together … memories that are full of love, laughter, comfortable silences, movie nights, silly fights, wine delights and Chinese bites. Thank you for all the love and light during this very momentous time in our lives. It has made this moment all the more special. Love, Ranbir and Alia.”
Their wedding festivities kick-started on April 13 with Alia’s mehendi ceremony which saw the presence of friends and family members like Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Armaan Jain, Karisma Kapoor, Pooja Bhatt, Akansha Ranjan and others. It was followed by a haldi ceremony in the morning today.
There was a lot of speculation about the wedding date and venue after the media came to know about Ranbir and Alia’s wedding. Finally, on April 13, Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni confirmed that the couple will tie the knot on April 14.
Ranbir and Alia will reportedly host two grand wedding receptions for their industry friends in Mumbai. The buzz is that the reception will be attended by Bollywood dignitaries and actors from the industry.
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt started dating way back in 2017 when they met on the sets of Brahmastra. The two went on to make their relationship official in 2018 when they appeared together at the reception of actress Sonam Kapoor. Ever since then the couple has been painting the town red with their love story.
Reports are also rife that Alia and Ranbir will be taking a 15-day break as they will have to do a lot of rituals that they will have to do post-wedding. From Chaunka chardhana to everything, as a Punjabi bride, after their wedding, Alia will reportedly have to do all the rituals that a Kapoor bahu has to do.
According to a report in BollywoodLife.com, as per the Punjabi tradition, the bride and groom stay in one room for four days and there is a puja that they have to do every morning and on the fourth day, they take a bath and sit on a Satya Narayan puja and after that groom puts a red colour sindoor on the bride and takes a promise of forever. The report also added that Alia’s to-be mother-in-law Neetu Kapoor is very particular about all the rituals and she cannot wait to welcome her daughter-in-law home.
