A new twist in the Bamboo court on Tuesday. Akil Bissessur was released on two sureties of Rs 50,000 and a debt recognizance of Rs 300,000. He will also have to report every Saturday to the police station nearest to his home. He must be always reachable and remain at a fixed address.
Release of Akil Bissessur: “I am happy for justice,” says Valayden
Rama Valayden said he was moved by the release of Akil Bissessur on Tuesday in the Bambous Court. “I am very happy. Not only because Akil Bissessur is a friend, a member of the bar and a member of Avengers. What makes me happier is that we have avoided a miscarriage of justice,” he said. He added that the panel of lawyers never gave up hope. “We are looking forward to the DNA report. We maintain that the drugs were planted,” Rama Valayden said. Sanjeev Teeluckdharry said Akil Bissessur is a victim.
