Jason Jonathan Sagai, a 34-year-old motorcyclist from Morcellement Ilois, Baie du Tombeau, died of his injuries in a collision with another two-wheeled vehicle. It happened on Thursday May 18 at around 00:20 a.m. on route Abattoir, Roche Bois, near the Mauritius Meat Authority (MMA) building. Jason Sagai breathed his last in a ward of the intensive care unit of the Dr A.G.Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis on Thursday May 24, where he was placed on artificial respiration.
After being informed of this accident in the early hours of Thursday morning, May 18, a team of police officers led by Sergeant Joypaul, went to the Abattoir, Roche Bois road. Two motorcyclists were lying on the asphalt with their two-wheeled machines beside them. Jason Sagai was riding a silver Haojue motorcycle, while the other rider, an 18-year-old from Roche Bois, was riding a black Aprilia motorcycle.
Both injured motorcyclists were taken to Dr Jeetoo Hospital in an ambulance belonging to the Emergency Medical Service. Jason Sagai was admitted to the intensive care unit and placed on artificial respiration. He passed away at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 25.
His body was autopsied at the Dr Jeetoo Hospital morgue in the late afternoon of May 25 by Dr Prem Chamane, Principal PoliceMedical Officer. He attributed the death to craniocerebral lesions.
