Belgian national, Michael Sevilla will be in prison for the next two decades in Mauritius. The Court of Assizes has found him guilty of drug trafficking.
Sevilla was arrested in 2017 at SSR Airport when he confessed having swallowed pellets of heroin. Some days later, more heroin came through DHL from South Africa. In total, the Belgian had imported some 500 grams of heroin worth more than Rs 7 M.
Following his guilty plea, Judge Lutchmeeparsad Aujayeb has sentenced him to 20 years of penal servitude and a fine of Rs 25,000.
