The German world champion has passed away at the age of 75.
Gerd Müller has died at the age of 75. He was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. He was Bayern Munich’s all-time top scorer (570 goals in 605 games) and won four Bundesligas with the Bavarian club. A three-time winner of the Champions League, world champion in 1974, European champion with West Germany in 1972 and winner of the 1970 Golden Ball, Gerd Müller won almost everything in his career. His wife, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, said she no longer recognised him in the last years of his life. Bayern announced the death of the German on social networks: “Bayern mourns Gerd Muller. Today, the world of Bayern ends. He passed away this morning.
