The Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage was alongside MP, Subashnee Lutchmun Roy and MP, Kavi Doolup at a press conference on Saturday morning. He spoke lengthily about the Britam report and had an outburst against the opposition parties. He accused the PTr of “bringing everything back to politics“. He added that the sale of assets in Britam (Kenya) was done in the interest of the country and the subscribers of the other schemes of the ex-BAI group.
Minister Avinash Teeluck also criticised the MMM for making harsh comments against the former BAI group in the past and added that the comments made by the MMM leaders today are aimed at securing and protecting their alliance partners.
Kavi Doolub, on the other hand, focused on horse racing. He said that there has been a lot of criticism of the organisation of racing. He said that the industry needs a revamp. “We need another model,” he said. And he insisted that whatever is proposed is “in the interest of fellow turfists“.
Subashnee Lutchmun Roy also criticised the opposition members for using the live broadcast of parliamentary proceedings to make a show. She declared that the MSM “firmly believes in democracy“.
