PayPal Holdings Inc has partnered up with the non-profit organisation Anti-Defamation League (ADL) in order to investigate the method that extremist and hate movements in the US take advantage of financial platforms to fund their criminal activities.
The initiative came from ADL and led by ADL’s Centre on Extremism. It will focus to uncover and disrupting the financial flows supporting white supremacist and anti-government organisations and groups such as anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, anti-immigrant, anti-Black, anti-Hispanic and anti-Asian bigotry.
PayPal also stated that any information collected through the initiatives will be shared to other financial firms, law enforcement and policymakers.
