Domaine De Gros Cailloux Resumes Its Activities

Must Read

After several weeks of closure due to the health situation, the Domaine de Gros Cailloux resumed its activities this weekend. Indeed, the amusement park officially reopened its doors on Saturday, July 3, 2021, offering several new features to visitors. In addition to the experiences already on offer, guests can now enjoy several vacation workshops, created especially for younger guests. Tekoma, the park’s restaurant, has also redesigned its menu, which will launch in the coming weeks.

“Our teams took advantage of the weeks when the park was closed to rethink our offer and propose new experiences to our customers, especially families. For example, we created vacation workshops for young people aged between 6 and 15. We have also been working on a new menu that our restaurant will soon offer to its customers. This reopening comes at the right time as we feel that Mauritian families have a need to have fun and live playful experiences together. Our Park is the ideal place for them to get together and create beautiful memories”, says Christopher Blackburn, General Manager of Domaine de Gros Cailloux.

New for this reopening, vacation workshops are available from 9:30 am to 4 pm during school vacations, both in the Mauritian and French systems. Other workshops on themes such as theatre, nature and sports are also offered according to the weekly schedule posted on social networks. Parents will be able to relax and enjoy the restaurant, or even other attractions and experiences of the park, such as “Zookeepers”, which allows visitors to put themselves in the shoes of a caretaker for a few hours through an interaction with the animals of the shelter “Noah’s Ark”. In the Leisure Park, which covers five acres, other educational activities are offered around nature: gardening workshop, walk in the forest, “bubble soccer”, among others. It should be noted that all these activities are supervised by professionals.

Infrastructure work was also undertaken during the closure. A new deck, overlooking the famous Gros Cailloux Lake, was added to the Tekoma restaurant, creating a new space capable of hosting various events. Customers – individuals or companies – can now reserve the facility for this purpose. However, given the health context, the events will have to be organized in accordance with the health protocol in force in the country.
