Mauritian athletics once again took centre stage at the Games of La Francophonie in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Dezardin Prosper kept the quadricolour flying high by winning the high jump competition with a performance of 2m15.

After winning in 2017, Bernard Baptiste did it again in the Democratic Republic of Congo with a throw of 18m02.

Juliane Clair, who threw 53m45 in the hammer throw final at the Games of La Francophonie in the Democratic Republic of Congo, took silver. Romanian Bianca Ghelber dominated the competition with a throw of 73m20.
This was Mauritius’ third silver medal of the Games. The first two silver medals were won by Christopher Sophie and Vanessa Colin in the discus and javelin respectively.
Mauritian table tennis in the spotlight at the Games of La Francophonie in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The pair Ryan Desscann – Ivana Desscann won the silver medal in the mixed doubles tournament.
It was the Romanian pair of Elena Zaharia and Andrei Lonescu who were crowned champions in three sets to nil.
