For his know-how in the field of technical organization, especially during the African Athletics Championships held in Mauritius last March, the Mauritian Khemraj Naiko has been elected best technical official of the year 2022 by the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA).
Among the elite athletes all categories, the Nigerian Tobi Amusan for his world record in the 100m hurdles in the time of 12.12 seconds and the Moroccan Soufiane El Bakkali, best performer of the year in the 3000m steeplechase in 7:58:28 were crowned.
In the category of the most promising athletes, Kenyan Faith Cherotich, world junior champion in 9:16:14 and Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo for his world junior record in 9.91 seconds in the 100m, stood out.
