After Kalyanee Juggoo, a few weeks ago, the PTr recorded another defection. Sheikh Mukhtar Hossenbocus sent his letter of resignation to the leader of the Reds, Navin Ramgoolam, this morning. The former Lord Mayor said he had “served the party” for 35 years, including 25 years as a member of the executive.
Sheikh Mukhtar Hossenbocus says there is no sense of direction in the party. He deplores the fact that hard work and loyalty are being ignored.
He criticised Navin Ramgoolam’s listening skills and argued that “his opponent is clearly a great leader” who listens to his constituents and members.
Sheikh Mukhtar Hossenbocus was Lord Mayor during the year 2009-2019. He acted as Campaign Manager 5 times for Rashid Beebeejaun, then Osman Mamohed.
