Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth and his wife Kobita Jugnauth paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II on Sunday 18 September 2022.
The Prime Minister and his wife paid their respects to the Queen’s remains which are on display at Westminster Hall in London, UK.
They then went to Lancaster House where they signed the book of condolence to pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Mr Pravind Jugnauth delivered a message on behalf of the people and government of the Republic of Mauritius and on his own behalf to pay tribute to the memory of the former Sovereign and Head of the Commonwealth.
Mr Pravind Jugnauth noted that the Queen of England was distinguished by her humility, compassion and sense of duty.
He also referred to the visit of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to Mauritius in 1972, which he said many Mauritians still have fond memories of.
Mr Pravind Jugnauth also referred to the Queen’s considerable contribution to the advancement of the Commonwealth.
