The diocese of Port-Louis published guidelines, this Monday, August 8th 2022, on its site.
They are the following:
- On September 8th 2022, the “caveau”, the Church of Sainte-Croix and the surrounding area will be open to pilgrims from 5:30 a.m. until midnight. From midnight, the cellar and the surrounding area will be closed. Pilgrims must plan to return home as soon as the “caveau”, courtyard and church of Sainte-Croix close.
- On September 9th 2022, the cellar, the church and the perimeters will be open to the public from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- The pilgrimage will take place without limitation of the number of pilgrims to the “caveau” at Sainte-Croix.
- As the Covid-19 virus is still present in the country, the diocese recommends that people coming to the “caveau” wear their mask as much as possible. Those with flu symptoms should avoid crowds.
- The pilgrimage will last the whole month of September 2022.
