African Leadership magazine announced the winners of the 13 categories of the 2022 African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA) on Monday, following the call for nominations that closed on Friday, June 3, 2022. The hotly contested awards attracted more than 370,000 entries on the website and social media platforms, as well as email and postal submissions from Africans on the continent and in the diaspora.
Renganaden Padayachy, Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development, has been voted the African Finance Minister of the Year 2022. The news came yesterday, Monday, June 6, the day before the 2022-2023 Budget. Renganaden Padayachy will be officially decorated for this nomination on July 4 at a summit to be held in the House of Lords in the United Kingdom. This will also be the case for the winners in the other categories. Botswana’s Minister of Finance, Ipumbu Shiimi, takes second place.
The African Business Leadership Awards is a prestigious recognition event for outstanding business practices and achievements in the African business landscape and its private sector. The awards are part of African Leadership Magazine’s tradition of shining a spotlight on companies and leaders from the continent that are rarely featured on global media platforms.
