The first match in official competition of Club M at the Côte d’Or National Sports Complex ended with a defeat (1-0) against Sao Tome and Principe.
This match took place on Thursday in Cote d’Or as part of the preliminary round of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2023. The only goal of the game was scored by Luis Leal in the 36th minute of play.
Despite the contribution of expatriates such as Kevin Bru, Jeremie Villeneuve, Lindsay Rose and Dylan Collard, the band of Tony Francois has not found the right formula to take the lead in this double confrontation against Sao Tome and Principe.
The missed penalty of Dos Angos in the 60th minute of play allows the club M to keep believing in the qualification.
The return match will take place on Sunday, March 27 at the same place and will be played with eight closed doors.
