Year 2022: The School Certificate Pass Rate Is 78.49%

Must Read

The pass rate for the 2022 School Certificate is 78.49%. With 15 474 candidates taking part in these examinations, 12 145 of them have passed. The girls have done better than the boys (81.52% against 74.87%). Brenda Thanacoody-Soborun, the director of MES, provided these figures in a press conference this afternoon at her office.

In Rodrigues, 594 of the 787 candidates, who took part in the School Certificate examinations, have passed. The pass rate on the island is 75.48% as compared to 57% in 2019.

Academies did exceptionally well on the School Certificate (SC) exams, which is not surprising. Dr. Maurice Curé State College (DMC), Queen Elizabeth College (QEC), the Mahatma Gandhi Institute (MGI), and Royal College Curepipe (RCC) were among the institutions that performed exceptionally well. Since several Grade 11 (Form IV) students took these tests, the 100% pass rate is even more impressive. The QEC has 67 candidates who have obtained six units out of more than 150 registered candidates for these examinations. In each of the six subjects, this is the highest mark. The DMC has approximately forty candidates, while the RCC has 45 candidates and six units. The pass rate for the Collège Royal de Port-Louis (RCPL) is 98.6%.
