After four days of stoppage due to the testing of one of the 16 employees assigned to the production, out of a total of 49, the distilley has started back again.<\/p>\n<p>The employee in question has been placed in quarantine, as well as 7 other colleagues in production, await their PCR test results. The test was performed on all the personnel of the distillery which is part of the Omnicane agro-industrial complex in La Baraque and the premises of the distillery were disinfected according to the sanitary protocol of the Ministry of Health. Forty-eight hours were observed following this same protocol before the fermentation is launched, and this Saturday, the distillation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This resumption of production is the result of a collective effort of all staff that I want to greet and thank for their contribution in the reorganization of work,&#8221; said Jean-Pierre Rouillard, general manager of the distillery. &#8220;Of course, we are resuming production with a reduced workforce, but this will allow us to meet our contractual commitments to export, which is essential in the current context,&#8221; he concluded.<\/p>\n<p>As a reminder, the Omnicane distillery plans to produce 20 million liters of bioethanol for export this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The production of bioethanol of the distillery of La Baraque, l&#8217;Escalier, resumed this Saturday, July 10.
