The first round of the ‘Sprint Series’ will be run over 990m on Saturday at Champ-de-Mars racecourse. Color My Fate is the horse to beat. He will have to watch out for the distance record holder, Emerald Band.<\/p>\n

Color My Fate has shown great consistency since the end of the 2021 season, which he concluded with two wins in a row. He won easily in 54.69 seconds over 990m for his first race this year. Then did nothing wrong over 1400m finishing second behind Frosted Gold two weeks later. And Color My Fate won from start to finish over 1500m on July 16th. He outclassed the field beating Triple Fate Line by 1.10L.<\/p>\n

The Amar Sewdyal-trained horse can snatch another win. He’s quick off the start and he’ll be hard to beat if he races upfront.<\/p>\n

Emerald Band will be the main danger. \u00a0He holds the record for the distance which is 54.58 seconds established on November 7, 2020. Emerald Band won twice, over 1365m and 990m, in 2021. He did act for his comeback race on the 9th meeting. He took full advantage of this first outing. He is in a much-improved physical condition in recent weeks. He was impressive during its last gallops, and he is close to his best form. He will try to follow closely before finishing strongly.<\/p>\n

Alramz is the one who can upset the odds. Trained by Ricky Maingard, he has never been able to confirm his good South African reputation. He won once in 2021. He was average on his two outings this season. He will have to be at his best to beat the two main contenders.<\/p>\n
