<\/p>\nThe Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu) made two important seizures of psychotropic tablets on Friday 28 February. The first seizure was made at the home of Veejaypalsing Bahntoo, a 40 year old bricklayer in Montagne-Blanche.\u00a0 He was also found in possession of sixty doses of heroin.\u00a0 The second arrest concerns Mamade Samir Subratee, a 49 year old driver living in Riambel. The two suspects, who are known in the Adsu milieu, did not have medical prescriptions to be in possession of these tablets. They were arrested under a provisional charge of drug trafficking.<\/p>\n
It is on the basis of information to the effect that these two men were engaged in illicit trafficking that they were arrested after hours of surveillance on Friday 18 February. It was around 3:30 p.m. that a team of Adsu from the western division proceeded to the arrest of Samir Subratee on the Royal Road of Belle-Rose.<\/p>\n

This driver from the village of Riambel was found in his possession one hundred and eighty 75 mg Pregatas tablets, sixty 150 mg tablets, sixty 0.5 mg Xanor tablets and twenty-eight 50 mg Lyrica tablets.\u00a0 After his interrogation he was placed in a cell in the detention center of Vacoas. Samir Subratee was on parole for violating a protection order and possession of dangerous drugs.<\/p>\n
As for Veejaypalsing Bahntoo, he was arrested at his home around 9:30 pm on Friday evening, February 18, following a raid by Adsu police officers from the eastern division. The following tablets classified as psychotropic were seized, two hundred and eighty Pregabalin Nova 75 mg, one hundred and twenty Nova 150 mg, thirty Pregatas 150 mg, twenty Pregatas 75 mg, sixty ZamudolLP 100 mg, two hundred and forty Prebagalin 75 mg and two hundred and sixty Pregabalin & Mecobalamin of 75 mg.<\/p>\n

Veerjaypalsing Bhantoo was already on parole for a drug trafficking case. After his interrogation, he was placed in a cell at the Moka detention center.<\/p>\n
