The first phase of the Victoria Urban Terminal will be opened to the public in a few days. Various commercial brands will operate within the building. There will also be a food court. The Victoria Urban Terminal will include facilities such as a bus terminal, offices, retail areas, parking lots, green areas, a cab stand, commercial areas and other facilities.
The Victoria Urban Terminal is connected to the Port Louis metro station by the Rainbow Bridge, which bears the colors of the rainbow as its name suggests. A pedestrian link (“Esplanade”) will connect the urban terminal to the Metro Express
This first phase of the Victoria Urban Terminal (VUT), built by General Construction Co Ltd (GCC), will surely be inaugurated by the Prime Minister.

However, the old National Transport Authority carved stone building with a more modern look after two years of renovation is already standing out. “Some parts of the facade were blackened by the flames and in other places, the cut stones had to be dismantled or removed and replaced with other stones.
