Their explanations were not convincing. Police officers from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Trou aux Biches arrested two individuals who were on a moped on the Royal Road in 9th Mile, Triolet. They had in their possession several tools and two knives in the early morning hours of Thursday, August 4. The two men, Désiré Jency Alexandro Long, alias Jamil, 29 years old, a welder from Vallée-Pitôt and Mohamed Ridwan Ghunowa, a 29 year old security guard and resident of Tranquebar.

The two suspicious looking men were approached by a police officer for a traffic stop. The driver immediately accelerated and attempted to flee. He was quickly caught up with a 500-meter stretch of road in front of the Triolet fire station.
