After the equalizer from Adamu, Chelsea strived for a goal to restore their lead and was rewarded 16 minutes later after Kai Havertz got his name on the score sheet.

After sealing this win, Chelsea cemented their spot at the top the Group E, three points clear of A.C Milan.

MILAN THRASH ZAGREB BUT FAIL TO GET TO THE TOP OF THE GROUP

A.C Milan beat Dinamo Zagreb away from home on a resounding 4-0 score-line as they continue their distant battle of claiming first place of their Champions League group with Chelsea.

Milan opened the scoring at the 39th minute after Matteo Gabbia headed the ball at the back of the net. The Rossoneris doubled their lead thanks to their usual hitman, Rafael Leao, at the 49th minute. The Italian Giants kept on dominating Zagreb and ended up scoring 2 more goals, which included an own goal and a penalty by Olivier Giroud.

It was for the first time since beating Arsenal 4-0 at home in the last 16 in 2012 that the Rossoneris has scored 4 goals in a UEFA Champions League match. It was also for the first time since Milan scored 4 goals away from home since 2005, when they thrashed Fenerbaçe.

Despite this amazing win, Milan did not manage to get to the top of the group as Chelsea managed to get all 3 points earlier that night, against RB Salzburg.

RB LEIPZIG STUN THE CHAMPIONS AS NKUNKU AND WERNER WERNER

RB Leipzig victorious in a five-goal thriller as they beat Real Madrid on a 3-2 score-line at home. The German side was two up within the first 18 minutes as Gvardiol (13th min) and Nkunku (18th min) both scored. Their two-goal lead was then reduced late in the first half itself when Vinicius Jr (44th min) pulled one back for the Spanish giants.

In the second half, Leipzig restored their two-goal lead as Timo Werner (81st min) also managed to get his name on the scoresheet after scoring a late goal for the German side. Despite the late goal by Werner, Madrid did not give up and got themselves a penalty in the dying minutes of the game, which was converted by Rodrygo (94th min).

Unfortunately, the Brazilian forward’s penalty was not enough to prevent the major upset of the night. With this win, RB Leipzig has won three successive UEFA Champions League matches for only the second time, previously doing so in 2020 under the reign of Julian Nagelsmann.

MESSI SHINES AS PSG HUMILIATE MACCABI

Paris St Germain has torn Maccabi Haifa on a crazy 7-2 score-line. The French giants dominated the game from the first minute till the final whistle. One of the main men behind this amazing feat is Lionel Messi.

The Argentinian opened the scoring for PSG at the 19th minute, finishing the ball beautifully in the top right corner of the goal after being served by Kylian Mbappe on a plate. Despite scoring this amazing goal, the seven-time Ballon D’Or winner was not enough, as he ended the night with a brace of goals and a brace of assists, setting up a goal for both Mbappe and Carlos Soler.

The other hero of the game was Kylian Mbappe. The French star, just like his Argentinian teammate, also got himself a brace of goals and a brace of assists as he set up both goals scored by Messi.

With this 9-goal thriller, PSG scored seven times in a UEFA Champions League match for a third time, previously doing so in October 2000 (7-2 vs Rosenborg) and November 2017 (7-1 vs Celtic), while on the other hand, Maccabi Haifa remains winless in all nine of their away UEFA Champions League matches, losing eight of them.

BENEFICA SIT IN THE SECOND POSITION OF THEIR GROUP

Benfica has beaten Juventus on a 4-3 score-line.  After being led 4-1 by Benfica for 50 minutes, Juventus managed to start a comeback but fell short as they failed to find an equalizer in the dying minutes of the game.

With this result, Benfica sits in the second position of the group with the same number of points as PSG while Juventus is stuck in the third position of the group with the same number of points as the last of the group, that is Maccabi Haifa. If Maccabi wins their last match of the competition and Juventus loses their final game, the Italian Giants might even finish last of the group.

Benfica has now won all four of their home European matches against Juventus while on the other hand, Juventus have lost four matches in a single group stage in a UEFA Champions League season for the first time ever.

With this victory, the Portuguese giants have collected 11 points (3 wins and 2 draws) in a single UEFA Champions League group stage for the first time since the 2011-12 campaign, picking up 12 to quality to the knockout stages.
