A 41-year-old man from Mahebourg was injured all over his body in a traffic accident that occurred on Wednesday evening, February 22, on Solitude Road in Plaine-Magnien. His Suzuki car was involved in an accident with a Mitsubishi driven by a 23-year-old man from New Grove. The latter suffered injuries to his feet.

The accident occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday evening, February 22. After being alerted, a team from the Plaine-Magnien police station went to the scene. The Suzuki had gone off the road to the left while the Mitsubishi was in a horizontal position on this road. Both vehicles were seriously damaged.

An ambulance from the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) was called to transport the two injured to the Jawaharlall Nehru Hospital in Rose-Belle. The forty-year-old could not be submitted to an alcohol test because of his health condition. This one carried out on the inhabitant of New Grove proved to be negative.

At the time of the accident, the road was dry, but not overly lit. After the two vehicles were towed to the Plaine-Magnien police station to be examined, Mahebourg firefighters cleaned this part of the road with high pressure. After being treated in the emergency room, the two injured were admitted to the ward.

An investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of this accident.
