To Pay For His Drug Fix, He Poses As A Kurtis Vendor

Must Read

A meticulous investigation conducted over the past month has allowed the men of the Field Intelligence Office (FIO) of the Northern Division to put an escapist out of action, who was operating from a fake Facebook account. This individual, Jean Sébastien Alexandre Nizelin, a 26 year old bricklayer living in Plaine des Papayes, was arrested on Monday May 9. He pretended to sell a set of kurtis for Rs 500. Thus, Sébastien Nizelin was able to swindle several women, who thought they were getting a good deal.

For a month already, this suspect was in the sights of the police officers of the FIO of the North division. Several complaints were made against a woman who was selling kurtis using the Facebook platform. The one, who was pretending to be Ashna M., was in fact Sebastien Nizelin, who was using a fake account.  His latest victim is a resident of Clairfonds N0 2, Phoenix. After seeing a post by Ashna M., the Phoenix resident sent him a message on Messenger to express her interest in a kurti. She then received a phone number on which payment should be made on Juice’s app.

This woman was on hold for many hours, but the Kurti was never delivered. She even tried to call this person several times, but to no avail. In the end, she realized that she had been swindled.

Sebastien Nizelin was wanted by officers of the Plaine des Papayes police station for failure to comply with the conditions of his parole and was on a warrant for failure to appear at the Port Louis court of the Northern Division.

Sebastien Nizelin was brought before the court in Pamplemousses on Tuesday morning, May 10. He was then taken back to the police station in Piton.
