7 performances and 7 sold out. Alexandre Martin has hit the ground running with his first play under the Martin’s Prob label – his events company.
Alexandre attributes the success of Ah-Kew in love to the concept of the play and the actors: “There’s certainly the concept and the character of Ah-Kew. But beyond that, there’s also the excellent performance of the cast, which is mainly made up of well-known comedians that audiences haven’t discovered on stage for a very long time. I’m thinking here of Laval Disco, Sizann, Solange and the others.”
The character of Ah-Kew is due to appear in September, as Alexandre is planning a sequel to Ah-Kew in Love: “We’re already in rehearsals for our new play, which will be called Mariaz Ah-Kew – Li paw paw. This new play is the sequel to Ah-Kew in Love. The play will be performed at the Caudan Art Centre on September 22 at 7:30 pm, on September 23 at 7:00 pm and on September 24 at 3:00 pm. Tickets will be on sale at Rs 350. The cast will be almost the same, but some new characters will also appear, notably Ah-Kew’s mother, played by Martine Charrié, a former member of the Komiko group.
