The Recount Of Votes In No. 19 Will Take Place On Saturday 29 January

The exercise will be held at the GMD Atchia State College, Port Louis, and will be conducted by the Acting Master and Registrar Wendy Rangan. She will be assisted by Raj Seebaluck and Mehdi Manrakhan. The court officers will count some 28,169 valid and 1,796 invalid ballots in the presence of all parties involved, including the Electoral Commissioner and Jenny Abebiro. Justices Denis Mootoo and Aruna Devi Narain, on 21 January, ruled that a “recount” of the votes was necessary. As a reminder, there are only 92 votes between Jenny Adebiro and the elected Ivan Collendavelloo in this election.
