The Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Jugnauth, leaves Mauritius for London on Friday 16 September 2022. The Head of Government will represent the Republic of Mauritius at the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in Great Britain.
Here is the PMO’s statement on the Prime Minister’s official visit to London and New York:
In London, the Prime Minister, who will be accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Kobita Jugnauth, will visit Westminster Hall to pay his respects to the late Queen. He will then go to Lancaster House to sign the book of condolence and pay his respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
On Monday 19 September the Prime Minister will attend the State funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey.
The Head of Government will be the guest of His Majesty King Charles III at a reception at Buckingham Palace.
Mr Pravind Jugnauth will also attend a reception hosted by the British Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, Mr James Cleverly.
The Prime Minister will then travel to New York, USA, where he will attend the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Mr Pravind Jugnauth will address the United Nations on Friday 23 September 2022. The Prime Minister is scheduled to have bilateral meetings with Heads of State and Government, as well as with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, on the margins of the General Assembly.
Pravind Jugnauth will also address an education summit and the first ever meeting of the Global Group of Heads of State and Government for the Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases.
The Prime Minister will attend a reception hosted by US President Joseph R. Biden at the American Museum. Biden at the American Museum of Natural History.
