After an alleged video of the Dalai Lama kissing a boy on the lips and asking him to ‘suck his tongue’ flared anger on Sunday, the spiritual leader of Tibet has issued an apology.
Dalai Lama’s official Twitter account claimed that he repents the ‘hurt’ inflicted by his words and directed the apology to the boy in the viral video, his family and ‘friends all over the world’. The statement added that he tends to interact with people in a ‘playful and innocent’ manner.
His apology on Twitter read, “A video clip has been circulating that shows a recent meeting when a young boy asked His Holiness the Dalai Lama if he could give him a hug….”
