Officers of the Special Striking Team and the Special Supporting Unit have been searching the home of the mother-in-law of lawyer Sanjeev Teeluckdharry for the past few hours. According to the wife of the barrister, Namrata Teeluckdharry, birn Gaya, it is “an act of intimidation in view of the rally on Saturday 29 October. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Inspector Uteem. However, no incriminating items were found at the home of Sanjeev Teeluckdharry’s mother-in-law in Rose Hill. The police, according to him, were looking for drugs or stolen goods.
After some two hours of a police search at the home of his relatives, leading to no discovery of incriminating material, Sanjeev Teeluckdharry made not reproach to the officers of the Striking Team, this Thursday, October 27.
Ha states: “I have no complaints about the search. Everything was done in my presence and in a transparent manner. However, the question remains: who gave the order to conduct this search?
Bruneau Laurette, who was also present this morning, pointed out that this search would have taken place to discourage those who fight for this country.
“I agree that a team works and finds something. But we must not come and invent (things). We should not do intimidation work,” he maintained.
