Rs 300,000 Worth Of Stolen Jewellery, Suspecting Her Drug Addict Son

A 40-year-old woman reported a case of theft from her home in Triolet between 2pm and 5.15pm on Wednesday, June 22. The offender damaged a flush door in her room to gain access to the interior. He then opened a safe, which was on top of a cupboard with a break-in, and took the contents. Gold jewellery worth Rs 300,000 was taken. She suspects her 26-year-old son, who is a drug addict, of being the perpetrator of the theft.

The 48-year-old woman went to the Triolet police station at around 6pm on Wednesday 22 June to report the case. She explained how the flush door to her room was broken into, before the perpetrator forced open a safe that was on top of a cupboard. Gold jewellery, including ten bracelets, two chains, three pairs of earrings and three rings.

The 40-year-old woman said she suspects her 26-year-old son, who is a drug addict, of being the perpetrator. She said she could identify her jewellery. At the time of the robbery, the surveillance cameras in her home were disconnected. The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Trou aux Biches has been seized with the case.

In addition, a 71 year old man from Vallée des Prêtres reported his grandson for domestic violence. During an argument with his grandfather on the afternoon of Wednesday 22 June, the grandson insulted him because the grandfather refused to give him a sum of Rs 200. Grandparents are abused by their grandson when he is under the influence of alcohol.
