The revision of the price of bread is on the agenda of the General Assembly of the Association of Bakery Owners (APB) scheduled for this Wednesday at Rose-Hill Soonee Hall. This is being held in the wake of the recent increase in the price of fuel and the quality of flour which involves the use of inputs.
At the meeting, members of the association will review the situation in the baking industry before meeting with the press in the early evening to formulate their official demands for a price review to the government.
Members of the association will also address the quality of the flour they currently use to make bread. They point out that the price of flour is causing them to use more inputs to improve the quality of bread. This situation increases the cost of making bread. This General Assembly will also review the situation of foreign workers who work for the bakeries.
The association has also indicated its intention to collect a sum of Rs 2000 to finance several expenses for the association. The report of the treasurer of the association and ‘Any Other Business’ are on the agenda of this General Assembly.
