Constance Prince Maurice is positioning itself as the ideal location for the shooting of exceptional films! And it is not the producers who will say otherwise. This jewel of the Constance Hotels & Resorts group has hosted the shooting of a fourth international film on its premises, namely “Resort to Love”, between October and December 2020. This film, produced by Alicia Keys and to be released on Netflix this Thursday, July 29, 2021, mobilised some 350 hotel employees, both for service, filming and extras. A look behind the scenes of this collaboration.
“Everywhere the camera points is a wonderful frame…” Jeremy Walker, the co-producer of “Resort to Love”, fell under the spell of the Constance Prince Maurice, a high-class hotel, from the moment he arrived at the hotel, located in the east of the country. Renowned for its exceptional cachet, Constance Prince Mauritius uses its know-how and local lifestyle to carry out large-scale film projects.
It has so far hosted four international film shoots, including Dominique Farrugia’s “Depression and Buddies” in 2012, Madhur Bhandarkar’s “Calendar Girls” in 2014, Nicole Garcia’s “Lisa Redler” in 2019 and Alicia Keys’ “Resort to Love” in 2020.
“We regularly organise various international events, such as culinary festivals or golf championships, bringing together the biggest names in these various worlds. We have acquired a lot of know-how and experience in managing large events. For the film “Resort to Love”, the Constance Prince Maurice fulfilled all the boxes of their specifications, notably optimal and ideal conditions for the shooting, logistics adapted to the needs of the film crew, the actors and their families and the exclusivity agreement for the site. The filming also took place in strict compliance with the American production’s health protocol, which we adapted to our own,” explains Nadine Comarmond, Head of Groups and Incentives at Constance Hotels & Resorts.
The team is proud to have been able to host this shooting in the middle of a pandemic! “Mauritius has assets that we cannot neglect and that we can exploit.
