Opposition: Open Protest Against The PM On 12 August

Must Read

The Red, Mauve and Blue leaders have decided to form a common front against the Prime Minister on Friday 29 July. They will hold an open protest over the sniffing allegations to demand the resignation of Pravind Jugnauth by Friday 12 August.

Navin Ramgoolam had promised on Wednesday 27 July to meet with leaders Paul Berenger and Xavier Luc Duval. The decision was made to organize a protest against the government for ‘high treason‘. “Whether it is civil society, NGOs, other political parties, everyone, who feels concerned, is invited to this demonstration,” said Patrick Assirvaden, the President of the PTr, emphasizing that the goal of the Opposition is to create “a very large gathering in the streets of the capital to demand the departure of the Prime Minister.” The leaders of the PTr, MMM, PMSD and RM have already submitted a formal request to the Commissioner of Police for 12 August.
