Avin Lutchmoodoo, 28, who worked as a General Worker at the North Hospital, met a tragic end on Thursday morning, September 29. The resident of La Clemence, Rivière du Rempart, was killed while driving his car when it collided with a tree along Powder Mill Road in Pamplemousses, not far from the Hôpital du Nord. The victim succumbed to multiple injuries.
It is around 6:30 am, this Thursday morning of September 29 that this accident occurred. Avin Lutchmoodooo was driving his car along Powder Mill Road, Pamplemousses and was heading towards the North Hospital. It would appear that he lost control of his Nissan Sunny vehicle after it skidded off the road before hitting a tree on the left side of the road. An ambulance from the Emergency Medical Service was called to the scene with serious injuries. The doctor on board was only able to confirm his death.
The body of this man was then taken to the morgue of the North Hospital, before being transferred to the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis for an autopsy. The autopsy, performed by Dr. Sudesh Kumar Gungadin, head of the forensic department of the police, attributed his death to multiple injuries.
An investigation was opened at the police station of Pamplemousses to establish the exact circumstances of this accident.
