The road has claimed yet another victim on Wednesday morning, September 15. Jean Alain Andrew Michel, a 33-year-old welder living in Pointe aux Sables was found dead on the asphalt with his motorcycle at his side at Avenue Peupliers, La Tour Koenig. An ambulance from the Service d’Aide Médicale d’Urgence (Samu) was called to the scene. The personnel on board could unfortunately only note the death of this thirty-year-old.  The latter would have skidded on his motorcycle. His body was transported to the morgue of the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis for an autopsy. The autopsy, performed by Dr. Maxwell Monvoisin, Principal Police Medical Officer, attributed his death to a pulmonary hemorrhage.

Following a request made to the police, a team of police officers from the Petite-Rivière police station went to Avenue Peupliers, La Tour Koenig, in the industrial zone of La Tour Koenig, not far from the Compagnie Mauricienne de Textile. A motorcyclist was lying on the asphalt with his motorcycle at his side. The doctor of the Samu who arrived on the scene of the accident could only notice the death of this welder. The police suspect that this motorcyclist skidded before hitting an electric cabin on this road.

An investigation has been initiated to shed light on the exact circumstances of this accident.
