Motorcyclist In Critical Condition After Accident

Must Read

A 34-year-old driver’s aide was seriously injured in a traffic accident early Wednesday evening, September 28. He hit a concrete column in front of a gate in Tranquebar with the motorcycle he was riding. This resident of this locality is in critical condition and has been placed under artificial respiration in the intensive care unit of the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis.

It was around 6:45 pm this Wednesday, September 28, following a request that a team of police officers from the Pope Hennessy police station went to Cremation lane, Tranquebar. The motorcyclist was bleeding profusely from his head in front of a resident’s gate and a black Haojue motorcycle was beside him.

As no ambulance from the Emergency Medical Service or a vehicle from the Mauritius Fire and Rescue Services was available, he was transported to the Dr Jeetoo Hospital in a police vehicle.

After the identity of the motorcyclist was established, investigators learned that the motorcycle belongs to a resident of Terre-Rouge and that the driver does not even hold a provisional license for this vehicle but does hold a provisional license for a car.

The police investigation into this case is ongoing.
