Miss Mahebourg was elected for the year 2022-23. She beat the 20 competitors for the crown and succeeds Alexandrine Belle-Etoile, Miss 2021-22. After winning the grand prize of Rs 100, 000 sponsored by Uwellness Spa, Nilmani Devi Hurlall will have the chance to walk the runway at the New York Fashion Week in Manhattan in September and compete in other international events.
She was the jewel of the Maritim Crystals Beach Hotel in Belle-Mare on the evening of 25 June. Nilmani Devi Hurlall is the new Miss Mauritius Emboss by Estrella, who will represent Mauritius internationally. The 23-year-old is passionate about singing and is studying for a degree in Vocal Performance. The message of Miss Nilmani Devi Hurlall is to “always have confidence in yourself”.
The new Miss Maurice Emboss by Estrella has Miss New Grove, Hurlall Karishma as her first runner-up and Miss Souillac, Tatiana Beauharnais, as her second runner-up.
The three of them beat 20 contestants representing different regions of the island and Rodrigues, represented by Ariana Stephan who was in the Top 10 alongside Neha Dabee, Miss Curepipe, Illeana Blaize, Miss Tamarin, Poonita Yeshna Fagooah, Miss Flic-en-Flac, Tashvina Boodhun, Miss Bel-Air, Yovna Ponisamy, Miss Plaine-Magnien and Hateefa Low Kom, Miss Grand-Baie. The other ten were Naarmeen Bernon, Miss Port Louis, Teena Gaya, Miss Quatre-Bornes, Michèle Olana Herminette, Miss Terre-Rouge, Neha Benita Reedoy, Miss Phoenix, Angelie Amelia Gérard, Miss Rivière-du-Rempart, Riya Ramjattun, Miss Goodlands, Kashmeera Devi Prim, Miss Flacq, Riveshna Gookool, Miss Rose-Belle, Sneha Choytun, Miss Moka and Mélanie Lebrasse, Miss Lallmatie.
This competition opens up the top three to three other international competitions. “We will evaluate Miss Nilmani Devi Hurlall and the two runners-up, Hurlall Karishma and Tatiana Beauharnais before placing them in the other three competitions and ensuring their training,” said Director, Nevin Rupear. The other competitions are Miss Universe, Miss Asia Pacific International and Miss Supranational. This year, it is Alexandrine Belle Etoile, the Miss 2021/2022 who took the plane on Sunday 26 June to represent Mauritius in Poland alongside Jean-Laurent David, the candidate of Mr. Mauritius 2022 for the men’s version of the Mr. Supranational competition.
Alexandrine Belle Etoile, Vandana Jeetah, Miss Universe Mauritius 2020 were alongside the guests of honour of the final, including Dana Virin, Miss Reunion 2021 and Gabriella Gonthier, Miss Universe Seychelles 2022.
