Last year’s Met Gala was cancelled due to the covid-19 pandemic. This year we are lucky that the Met Gala 2021 is on. This is one of the fashion’s biggest and starriest events – that has rolled out its red carpet in New York for some of the planet’s best-known celebrities. It was on the 13 September 2021. The Met Gala, which is a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s costume institute. The fundraiser is an event, but to the rest of the world it’s a celebrity extravaganza. The Met Gala was full of beautiful outfits. Many of our favourite celebrities were there. The pop superstar Billie Eilish, actor Timothee Chalamet, tennis wunderkind Naomi Osaka and the poet Amanda Gorman. The clothes was over $10,000. The Met Gala was full of surprising clothes. Knowing that there is still the pandemic the clothes are incredible.

Every year, the Met Gala has a number of cochairs that helps to host the event. Met Gala 2021 was co-hosted by pop star Billie Eilish, tennis player Naomi Osaka, actor Timothée Chalamet and poet Amanda Gorman.

And although its famous guests must follow Covid-19 rules, including wearing masks indoors, that hasn’t stopped many going for all-out glamour.
This year’s costume theme is In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” – and the looks were inspired by everything from the Matrix film franchise to the Statue of Liberty. Some of the eye-catching stars present : Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey Bieber, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Camilla Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish, Zendaya, Harry Styles, Serena Williams, Addisson Rae, Emma Chamberlain, Allyson Felix, Lewis Hamilton, Lilli Reinhart, Kendall Jenner, Simon Biley. Tennis’s newest star, 18-year-old Emma Raducanu, was fresh from winning the US Open just days ago.
