Winner on his first outing and beaten third on his second run, G I Joe proved to be too good on Sunday. The Patrick Merven’s horse was not bounced at the start by English jockey Richard Oliver. He settled in the middle of the field and waited for the 400m post to make his move. G I Joe was very gusty at the finish and he drew clear easily to win with 3.85L over the second who was the gig outsider Ernie.
