Mauritius Telecom Launches Its My.T Money Superapp

The mobile application of Mauritius Telecom (MT), my.t money, has reinvented itself and has become a Superapp. This announcement was made, this afternoon in Port Louis, by the Chief Executive Officer of MT, Mr Sherry Singh, in the presence of the Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation, Mr Darsanand Balgobin.

Mr Sherry Singh stated that with this major evolution of my.t money, MT aims to become a digital bank. He highlighted that this Superapp regroups a multitude of services, applications, and functions. Developed by the design society UI/UX, my.t money has been devised in a bid to offer an optimal experience to its users, he said.

Furthermore, the CEO of MT underlined that in the context of the launching of the my.t Superapp, MT has obtained its Payment Service Providers licence from the Bank of Mauritius. He added that strict measures and advanced technologies have been devised for security reasons.

He also dwelt on the features of the Superapp which have been classified into four categories. They are namely: Payment, Personal Financial Manager, Lifestyle and Partner App, and Rewards and Games. Under the payment application, users will be able to pay directly from his bank account or from his “wallet” by scanning a QR Code. He will also be able to transfer money from one bank to another and pay all bills from the app.

As for the Personal Financial Manager application, it offers a unique method to better manage one’s finances. The user will therefore be able to group his expenses in different categories such as restaurants, shopping, and medical bills, amongst others. The functionality “Saving Pots” will also be available where a user can save more easily.

The Lifestyle and Partner App will regroup all the different applications of MT such as Traffic Watch, my.t Weather, my.t Home, MUGA as well as those of its partners such as MCine, Ticket Box, MoTaxi, Rogers Capital, CIM, and Mado. Under the category Rewards and Games, users will be able to participate in games such as “Spin and Win” which will allow them to accumulate loyalty points and win gifts.

Mr Sherry Singh also announced that with the Superapp, the limit per day of transactions will increase from Rs 5,000 to Rs 50,000. He also added that my.t money is henceforth available in Rodrigues.

My.T money, launched in 2019, has more than 300,000 clients and 200 partners.
