Casemiro will not be able to face the Gunners who are leading with eight points. His fate was decided after he was booked in the 80th minute of the draw match at Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils were leading 1-0, as Bruno Fernandes scored a goal while Casemiro was cautioned for making a late lunge towards Eagles forward

United led Palace 1-0 thanks to a goal from Bruno Fernandes when Casemiro was cautioned for a late lunge on Eagles forward Wilfried Zaha.

Casemiro was cautioned eight minutes after their claims for a penalty.

However, United’s brilliant free-kick from Michael Olise in stoppage time cost them two points in their pursuit of Arsenal at the top and one of their key midfielders’ participation in this weekend’s match at the Emirates Stadium.

At Selhurst Park, Casemiro denied Wilfried Zaha on the break, resulting in a free kick and safeguarding United’s 1-0 advantage.

After Casemiro’s fate was decided, Man United’s coach Erik Ten Hag said, “He’s a really important player for us and a reason we’re in this position. But last time we beat Arsenal without Casemiro. We need to do it again.”

Their midfielder has been the team’s best player throughout the Premier League, though he only lost two out of the 18 games he played since joining Real Madrid in the summer.

The wait for the Red Devils’ clash with the Gunners is running feverish among football lovers but will be less energetic without its biggest star player.

Ten Hag’s side are eight points trailing the Gunners as the weekend is nearing, giving second-best of the season Manchester City the chance to eke out a three-point victory over their neighbors when they host Tottenham on Thursday night.

Casemiro has been at the top of Ten Hag’s strategy this season, playing the entire time in United’s last nine Premier League games.

The Dutch coach when asked about Casemiro’s replacement, said, “I said before the game it would be difficult for Manchester United to not have him at the weekend, they will have to bring in Fred or [Scott] McTominay and when you look at Arsenal’s midfield, it is functioning so well and I can only see it benefitting Arsenal in a huge way.

He went on saying, “They have got so much confidence now and it makes them red-hot favorites. He is not just an important player for Manchester United but he is one of the most important players in the Premier League. Certain teams function so well when they have certain individuals and that is what he offers them. For Arsenal, it was exactly what they wanted to see today.”

The Red Devils coach called it an “unlucky moment”.

United goalkeeper David de Gea said, “If we want to win in these games, we have to control them until the end. We dropped two points.”

Wednesday night’s draw at Palace denied United the chance to win a tenth match in a row.

Casemiro of Manchester United will be suspended for Sunday’s game against Arsenal, but manager Erik ten Hag tried to look for the bright side following the Brazilian’s fifth caution of the year.

United is now tied for third in the Premier League with Manchester City on points after 20 games in all competitions with only one loss.

Following his £70 million transfer from Real Madrid, where he won the Champions League five times, Casemiro, 30, has been a key player in that revival.
