Jeremy Désiré Decidé, alias Nono, will be extradited to Réunion Island.This was the decision taken by magistrate Shavina Jugnauth at the Port-Louis court this afternoon. Nono has been remanded to jail in the meantime. He has 21 days to appeal. However, his lawyer, Sanjeev Moloye, has announced that he will file an application for judicial review of the decision.
On March 31, 2023, the Attorney General’s office filed an extradition request against Nono, 37, from the French authorities. It is to noted that the same was done against Jean Hubert Celerine alias Franklin, age 33. This was after he had been sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment on July 2, 2021. He was involved in trafficking cannabis destined for Mauritius. The sentence was handed down by the Saint-Denis Court of Appeal in absentia.
