Lumberjack Arrested For Growing Cannabis Plants

After a first night spent in a cell at the Alcatraz detention center in the Central Barracks, a 32-year-old lumberjack, Iswarraj Madoo aka Anil, was brought before the Pamplemousses court this Thursday morning, June 16, on a charge of drug trafficking. This resident of Roches Noires was arrested in the afternoon of Wednesday, June 15, following a raid by the police of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU) of the Northern Division at his home. This after these policemen discovered in a wooden structure 335 cannabis plants measuring between 8 and 22 centimeters.

It was a team of ADSU, led by Inspector Soyfoo, who arrested the woodcutter. The latter was suspected of being involved in drug trafficking. After hours of surveillance following the information obtained on this man, the officers of the ADSU carried out a search on a wasteland in the village of Roches-Noires. It was 3:05 pm on Wednesday, June 15. These policemen were to discover a wooden structure in which was cultivated several cannabis plants in plastic pots.

Around 4:05 pm, these policemen were to see Iswarraj Madoo entering this wooden structure. These policemen were then to burst inside this structure. The suspect was caught in flagrante delicto in front of these cannabis plants. They were cultivated in 208 plastic pots.

After his appearance in court this Thursday morning of June 16 where he answers to a provisional charge of drug trafficking, even the culture of cannabis plants, Iswarraj Madoo was reconducted in police cell.
