The Republic of Mauritius has a new centenarian recently. It is Lucienne Hurree, a resident of Bambous. She blew out her 100 candles last Thursday, May 26. A ceremony was held at her home, in the presence of her relatives and prominent personalities including the Minister of Transport Alan Ganoo, the MP Sandra Mayotte, officers of the Ministry of Social Security, among others.
In his speech, Minister Alan Ganoo described Lucienne Hurree as a joyful person who always advocates good human values. He had to emphasize that our elders have a great influence on the development of the family.
For her part, the elected representative of constituency #14 (Savane / Black River), Sandra Mayotte, congratulated the members of the family of Lucienne for taking care of the latter. Sandra Mayotte wished Lucienne perfect health and happiness.
As for Lucienne, she attributes her longevity to a good diet and her faith in God.
